Oakland A’s Baseball Game
KIPP students get a chance to attend an Oakland A’s baseball game following the end of summer school.

7th Grade Walk-a-thon
Seventh grade students raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina and get to spend some time on the banks of Lake Merit. Overall the school raised a total of $1400 to support the victims of the storm.


Friday Fun Activities
Each Friday, upper grade students participate in a Friday Fun activity. These activities allow students to celebrate their accomplishments and bond with their fellow teammates and teachers.
Previous Friday Fun activities included:
- Ice Cream Sunday Party
- Gingerbread house making
- Poetry and Short story reading
- Kickball Playoffs
- Academic honors assembly
- Upper grade-level Auction


8th Grade Children’s Declaration of Independence
Eighth grade students rewrite the Declaration of Independence in the form of a Children’s Book. The students then shared their finished products with their fellow 6th grade students.

8th Grade Colonial Fair
Eighth grade students research life in the 13 English Colonies and try and convince potential settlers to live in their colonies at a colonial fair.


7th and 8th Grade Science Presentations
Seventh and Eighth grade students research and present information on a variety of minerals and elements.

Wiz Performance at the GAP
Seventh and Eighth grade students perform The Wiz at the headquarters of the GAP.



African-American History Month Celebration
KIPP Dance Troupe, Oratorical Fest speakers and a professional dance group perform for an all school assembly.
